Interestingly the conexant sound driver for this model is also in kernel version 4.3.
was hoping to upgrade the kernel but couldn't do so.
would definitely try out the new kernel and update this bug.

In the meantime, if anyone has already tried updating to kernel 4.4, please update this bug.
