I got a similiar model, the ASUS ROG GL552VW, and I have exactly the same problem. The touchpad does not work when I boot Xubuntu, but my gaming mouse that I got with this laptop does seem to work.

I will gladly help you with giving detailed information about this bug, but I do not know what kind of information is actually needed.
