Ah, one more detail: With the first 3.19.x kernels that I used, the SATA controller was detected as:

03:00.0 SATA controller: Broadcom Corporation (Wrong ID) Device 0224 (rev 10)

Now (I discovered that 2 days ago, when I opened this bug, sorry for not mentioning), it is:

03:00.0 SATA controller: Lite-On Technology Corporation Device 0224 (rev 10)
