I just installed this kernel:

linux-headers-3.19.0-031900rc4-generic_3.19.0-031900rc4.201501112135_amd64.deb
linux-image-3.19.0-031900rc4-generic_3.19.0-031900rc4.201501112135_amd64.deb

as a test, as requested, but it also would not boot
