It sounds like this bug may be fixed in mainline 3.19-rc3. It would be good to know if the commit that fixes this already made it's way into the stable kernels. Can folks affected by the bug please test the latest 3.18 upstream stable kernel. It can be downloaded from:

http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.18.4-vivid/

If the bug still exists in 3.18, we can perform a "Reverse" bisect to find the commit that fixes this in 3.19.
