That kernel should have the fix. You should also check the firmware version by running "dmesg | grep 'iwlwifi.*firmware'". This should show version 22.24.8.0. You don't need to download any ucode files.

To start I just need to know whether you still have issues with that kernel when using the firmware version I specified. If not, we're done! Otherwise we can do additional debugging.
