doesn't work for me on kernel 4.0.8, 2012 RB. tried with/without hid-rmi, and it's still not working. synclient doesn't start:

Couldn't find synaptics properties. No synaptics driver loaded?

and an lsmod reveals that the hid-rmi module isn't loaded. relevant dmesg:
