@Marc, after testing the kernels in comment #21, can you also test the kernel located at:

http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~jsalisbury/lp1305522/

That kernel has commits ef40e26e and 42f6923 reverted. I'd just like to see if they are causing your issue.
