Comment 109 for bug 1275794

The problem not only affects X output (and the described xrandr symptoms), but also happens when booting with framebuffer support: on my Thinkpad T440p, boot halts entirely as soon the framebuffer switches to the higher resolution. Boot only resumes when I lift the laptop momentarily from the docking station (with DisplayPort monitor connected to it). Boot halts next when the console font is switched; same process: it can only be resumed when I lift the laptop from the docking station.

I can easily reproduce this behavior with the latest (2013.09) Grml live linux system (http://grml.org/download/).

Please let me know what further information I can provide to help solve this.
