No, I cannot boot successfully using the 14.04 with "Enable CSM" option. For reference CSM is only a pre-UEFI compatibility option in the UEFI : http://wiki.phoenix.com/wiki/index.php/Compatibility_Support_Module and as such, it has no apparent link to the display issue the laptop has.
Do you still require Quantal testing ?
