I have the same issue, that's the second time I'm trying to copy 250GB from a NTFS partition of my internal harddrive to my Ntfs external hard drive (usb3) and then it frozen after random time from beginnig...
I'm currently seeing the External drive del blinking so I'm waiting it stop and then I'll make SysReq....
This bug should be fix!
Ubuntu 17.04, kernel 4.10.~20, completly frozen : Ctrl-Alt-F1 isn't working...
