Forgot to mention that pretty much everything Fn key related worked back in 12.10, with the exception of the screen brightness, which -- oddly enough -- required going into suspend, and coming out of suspend, before the screen brightness would work.
Starting with 13.04 and now 13.10, I pretty much lost all the other Fn functions as listed in my initial post, as well as the functionality of the power button triggering a shutdown dialog.
