Same problem in my Laptop and PC also I have used Ubuntu 14.04 LTS version, both have 8 GB Ram, while coping 3GB file (a single Movie) to my mobile sd card or My 1 TB western external hard drive the system hangs and mouse pointer not moving . After restart the system only , system will normal.
