I can also confirm that the backlight control is working as well.
My Machine: XPS 13 (FHD 1080p i7, 256GB, 8GB RAM)
Kernel: 3.8.0-20-generic #31-Ubuntu SMP Mon May 6 17:03:32 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
As an aside, I have noticed, however, that the "auto-dim" doesn't seem to work still. (The auto-dim feature where the screen and keyboard dim when the computer idle for a minute or so . The keyboard backlight does autodim, however the screen does dim at all)
