Hello David,

I just install the deb file you provided in comment #17
The external microphone issue still exist.

Step:
1. Install the deb file on 12.04.3 (3.8.0-29)
2. Reboot, plug the microphone, check if it works

$ dpkg -l | grep oem
ii oem-audio-hda-daily-lts-raring-dkms 0.1
