I don't understand why this is such an ongoing problem - isn't the XPS 13 ultrabook supposed to be the developer laptop? I thought the whole point was to provide a seamless experience for developers - and others - who want a Ubuntu ultrabook that's fully supported and 'just works'. What's going on here?
I've stayed with the 3.8.0-27 kernel for the past few updates, because it's working. Why are updates being pushed out that break the brightness functionality to begin with? If an updated kernel doesn't work properly with Ubuntu's 'flagship' laptop, it should never be pushed out in the first place.
