@Iyery: You already have Ubuntu installed, right? Boot using Ubuntu and Just download the Debian kernel and install it with:
$wget http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/pool/main/l/linux-2.6/linux-image-2.6.26-2-686_2.6.26-19_i386.deb #dpkg -i linux-image-2.6.26-2-686_2.6.26-19_i386.deb
After installation, reboot the machine and use Debian Kernel (choose it in Grub/Lilo). Shutdown the machine and wait 10h to see if the battery is drained.
Remember: You need shutdown the machine using Debian kernel!
