I have just tested on T430s and the kernel only partially fixed the issue. Function keys do work fine but there are 2 problems:
1. Notifications are not updated properly. They are showing the lowest value all the time
2. Brightness in system settings has no effect.

appending acpi_osi="!Windows 2012" to the kernel CLI resolves the issue completely.
