Bug Description

D-Link DWA-125/B1 is a relatively new USB Wi-Fi adapter, using a Ralink chipset supported by the rt2800usb driver. Currently, to work around the problem (it's missing in all present kernel versions, up to and including 3.7.x), I had to add this to /etc/rc.local:

echo 2001 3c1e >> /sys/bus/usb/drivers/rt2800usb/new_id

After that, the device works without problems.

The attached patch is trivial and simply adds the new USB ID to the list of devices handled by rt2800usb.

There are no logs to gather or attach. The issue is that the device is not recognized by the system, even with the rt2800usb driver preloaded with modprobe.

@Maia,

Will you be sending this patch upstream? If so, Raring will pick it up when rebased to v3.8. Also, when submitting the patch upstream, please cc linux-stable, so the stable releases pick up this patch as well.

This bug is awaiting verification that the kernel for Quantal in -proposed solves the problem (3.5.0-24.37). Please test the kernel and update this bug with the results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed-quantal' to 'verification-done-quantal'.

If verification is not done by one week from today, this fix will be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you!
