This problem affects me too. Sometimes, when I use two monitors in extended mode, the PC suddenly freezes. When I hover something, the cursor changes (e.g. if I hover an entry the cursor becomes a "I"), but if I click, this doesn't happen any more. Also, if I disconnect the secondary monitor, the primary becomes black. When the screen is not black, I can however switch to a TTY and try to restart the desktop manager, but it doesn't show up and I need to restart.
