I installed kernel v3.8-rc2 and rebooted. I noticed one difference right
away. I could suspend and resume without crashing. Before that was a
guaranteed crash (black screen on resume, keyboard dead). But then just
minutes after the successful resume I got the dialog box saying "an
internal error occurred, do you want to report it". I clicked "Yes" and
everything seem normal for a few minutes. It happened around 1:20PM PST if
that helps find that report. Anyway, a few minutes later the same freeze
occurred, cursor moves but clicking anywhere does nothing. The only thing
going on was I was typing into a browser window (typing this).

I restarted WITHOUT the second monitor plugged in. So far everything is
fine. No freezes, no "internal error" messages. I have suspended and
resumed 3 times while typing this without any problems.

In summary, something was fixed in that I could come back from a suspend
with the second monitor plugged in. Otherwise, it appears the
same instability exists with the second monitor and everything is OK using
just the laptop screen.
