Bug Description

This is potentially a regression.

I've downloaded and installed Ubuntu Quantal Beta 2 on my Acer Aspire One 722 and everything worked fine. I performed an upgrade and got the kernel updated from 3.5.0-15 to 3.5.0-16. When I boot with the 3.5.0-16 kernel, no sound devices show up in the Sound Settings screen. With the 3.5.0-15 it works perfectly.

When I run lspci with both kernels, the same devices are there:

00:01.1 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Wrestler HDMI Audio [Radeon HD 6250/6310]
00:14.2 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA) (rev 40)

But ALSA doesn't recognize them in 3.5.0-16, as you can see here:

!!Soundcards recognised by ALSA
!!-----------------------------

 0 [Generic ]: HDA-Intel - HD-Audio Generic
                      HD-Audio Generic at 0xf0444000 irq 41

And the device recognized by ALSA in 3.5.0-15, here:

!!Soundcards recognised by ALSA
!!-----------------------------

 0 [Generic ]: HDA-Intel - HD-Audio Generic
                      HD-Audio Generic at 0xf0444000 irq 41
