Just to confirm that if under Power Management options on Battery Power section you untick "Reduce Backlight Brightness" and "dim display when idle" and also for on AC Power section untick "dim display when idle" this does not happen at all unless you manually dim the display; even if you remove AC power it will not change resolution.
