Hey Vincent, for a snapshot of the size of 5G on a physical machine with 12.04 I'm seeing the following:

      2/1 0.000 0.000 13.865 13.865 manager.py:219(delete_snapshot)
        2 0.000 0.000 0.751 0.375 driver.py:83(_try_execute)
        1 0.000 0.000 13.090 13.090 driver.py:113(_copy_volume)

It seems like 13s is being spent on that dd of zeroing the volume.
