The Wireless AP is an AVM FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7390 running FRITZ!OS 05.22.
My various Android devices connected to the same AP do not appear to have this problem.
Distance: about 5m
Obstructions: none, apart from myself
I have no other AP to test with.
I'd say yes, this is a regression. Cannot remember to have these problems with previous Ubuntu versions.
