The patch (after a bit of misunderstanding, see http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.linux.kernel/1309397) has been queued up to 3.0-stable. Here's a snippet of the notification:

This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled

    e1000: save skb counts in TX to avoid cache misses

to the 3.0-stable tree which can be found at:

The filename of the patch is:
