I'm having exactly this problem with Marvell 88SE9172 SATA controllers (1b4b:9172) on a Gigabyte X79-UD5 motherboard.

I can see this bug is marked as Incomplete, but I'm not sure exactly why. Could somebody please explain what is missing here?
