Ok, so I am opening up a new window every time, so you do not have to click 'read more'. The only button anyone wants to click on my posts is 'read less'. Unfortunately it is not there. Let's add it to the wish list. There we have it, I am waffling again. Sorry about that Hopsee.

Anyway, let's try to recap in a hundred words, knowing that this is insufficient:

There is something wrong with my BIOS. An eBay salesman has possibly tempered with it. Therefore my memtest86+ my actually correctly indicate faulty memory, but the memory itself is just fine. This may or may not be related to the memtest86+ bug described above.

After this comment I will log off to validate the memory once more. In the mean time, can anyone look at the valgrind.log of the aptoncd bug? It should contain some data you could use. Also the memory behaviour is as visualised on gnome-system-monitor is explained there. Anyway: the RAM usage increases linearly up to 3 GB, after which it crashes due to incorrect BIOS settings. Also see my screenshots on the BIOS settings there pleased.

There are many more arguments I have, but I will try to keep it with this for now.
