The new package the includes support for Realtek 8187 USB, linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-21-generic (2.6.24-21.31), also breaks some existing wireless functionality. Please have a look at bug 260664, https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24/+bug/260664.

This needs to be solved.
