Sorry to keep adding more info, but I found my type of PC which is a Compaq Presario 6000EA and located a page that tells me what kind of driver my computer originally had for my sound card...

So I visited the Alsa website...

So hopefully I am on the right track and maybe there's a driver that suits my needs...

Unless you know exactly what it is I need and how to install it.
