prism54 and other wlan drivers missing in kernel 2.6.22

Hi,

after upgrading to the 2.6.22 kernel I noticed that the modules for my wlan adapter are missing (prism54pci,prism54common).
A lot of other wlan modules included in the 2.6.20 kernel-packages are also missing.

This could be because the kernel hasnt been released as an upgrade yet. The reason for that is most of the time the meta package isnt ready yet.

It's because Ubuntu provides drivers were moved to linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.22 package and are no longer supplied by our kernel image package.

Upgrades will be ensured by linux-meta changes, once we upload them.

I've upgraded from feisty to gutsy and installed the linux-image-generic meta package but I'm still missing the drivers for my prism54 card.

I've also posted these issues in this bug report:

but they are constantly being ignored.

What's so hard to see that modules being available in the 2.6.20 kernel packages are missing in the 2.6.22 kernel and/or ubuntu-modules-packages?

What may be more diifficult to understand is that gutsy is a work-in-progress, so some functionality may not exist yet. These drivers will make it into gutsy. They just haven't been given high priority yet. The majority of prism2 and prism54 are already supported, it's a few trivial IDs that aren't. We have to make sure we don't conflict drivers (which causes more problems).

Well, I would really like to see the prism54 drivers in gutsy soon for my-self.

My pcmcia card Netgear WG-511 (taiwan) doesn't work anymore in feisty (and was working perfectly in dapper) so I would like to be sure it'll work again in gutsy or be able to submit bug report as soon as possible.
