I am getting this same error. I have been running Karmic without problems through all versions of the kernel released for Karmic.

Upon upgrading to Lucid today, I started to see this message, and my mouse does not work at all.

I upgraded to the 2.6.32-22 kernel from the 2.6.32-21 kernel that was installed during the upgrade, to no avail.

Booting with the 2.6.31-21 kernel that was installed prior to upgrading to Lucid gets rid of the error and my mouse is working fine.

I've attached uname -a, dmesg, and lspci -vvnn for both 2.6.31-21 and 2.6.32-22.

I have a feeling it may be something related to the kernel config or something to do with other configuration files, but I'm no expert with linux USB support.
