Comment 56 for bug 249340

I have a pretty obvious question:

If the upgrade does NOT hang with the older kernel (2.6.22-14) would it be possible to upgrade from that kernel altogether (and add languages for that matter) in order avoid the bug in the first place?

I still haven't upgraded so I don't know exactly what the mechanics are.
