Fabián Rodríguez : It is only the case when Windows is not pre-configured from the installation to support SATA and AHCI. If windows is not properly installed and don't have the drivers to support it, then it crashes on a BSOD because it is not able to access the drives.
Dell computers with pre-installed Windows XP correctly supports SATA, but they will crash with a BSOD if you install a clean Windows XP on them. Dell computers with pre-installed Windows Vista does not support SATA correctly and always crash with BSOD.
