Comment 33 for bug 132271

I find it really strange that Ubuntu is not taking action on this...
I have a Dell Inspiron 9300, and 2 seconds ago also upgraded to the latest Bios.. it is still stuck at 800Mhz.
I thought that Dell is shipping new computers with Ubuntu... wonder how that will be when they start to put Gutsy on them... Are they also going to be stuck at minimum speed?
There are many people here now with these problems on various computers.. How hard can it be to apply the patch again which aparentlly was there before?
This is a really really show stopper, and Upgrade manager should have had a Degrade button as well for us that are so unlucky that we have upgraded, and is not too familliar with linux that we can solve it without braking anything.
Please if there is anything we can supply to verify, or track these issue down please ask for any info.
