The issue is still there after kernel upgrade to 2.6.22.10 on Gutsy 64bit. I've also tried the hacks from the Laptop Testing Team:

1. set POST_VIDEO=false instead of POST_VIDEO=true
2. set RADEON_LIGHT=true

But nothing works. The machine goes into sleep but the half-moon does not stop blinking. So I've to switch the power off hardly.
