I have recompiled ALSA 1.0.14 with the patches realtek10.tar.gz and realtek11.tar.gz from https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/view.php?id=3104

Then I "insmoded" the module:
insmod ./snd-hda-intel.ko model=toshiba

now it WORKS!!!!!! I have sound!

My notebook is a toshiba a205 s4577 runing ubuntu feisty.
