I tried it, and yes, with alsa 1.0.15rc3 it sort of works, but with the problems I signalled before: mic level is low, and it's plagued by a very high offset. Have you tried to see if it's the case for you? Is very easily seen with audacity. See my reports on the alsa bug entry:
