yes your patch works, what let me confused is this:

I've downloaded alsa 1.0.11, .12, .13 and .14rc3 and in all of these in usbquirks.h file there is no mention about 0x46d (Logitech) or 0x8f0 (our Quickcam Messanger model) so my question is: why in previous kubuntu 6.10 our webcam worked perfectly (in alsa I mean) and now not? Probably cause another patch and we have to look at this.
In other words: your patch make it back to work, but why previously worked without that part?
