Do not worry
to install you will do some thing like this:
sudo dpkg -i linux-image-2.6.20-15-124-386.deb
to uninstall
sudo dpkg -r linux-image-2.6.20-15-124-386
if you can't start with this kernel. chose your old kernel in boot-maneger.
