As soon as you turn your PC on. look for the count down at the lower left of the screen.
Press Esc and pick the oldest kernel.
Once you have booted in ubuntu run the update again and i should down load 2.6.20-15 and that might fix the problem.
For now, I have gone back to 6.10 but are looking forwards to the final 7.04.
