still got the same problem with http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily/current/feisty-alternate-i386.iso from 10 April.

Gigabyte 965P-S3 , trying to install it on IDE HDD connected to JMicron

modprobe is showing some errors and i got dropped to busybox sh

it complains about missing /dev/root/dev or some /root/.static/something...

and if i check ls /dev/sd* or ls /dev/hd* when on busybox sh, i get nothing.
system works fine on windows and debian
