I also have this problem on my IBM R60, I'm using kernel 2.6.20-12. After resuming from hibernation internal speakers don't work, after reboot the sound is still gone. When I turn off the computer and boot Windows XP the sound is still gone. The only solution I have found it to turn off the computer remove battery and ac plug, then plug it again.
