Comment 5 for bug 121105

Hi again,

I really don't know if my posts are helping or just a nuisance at this point, so I apologize in advance if they are the latter and solicit feedback on my netiquette.

That being said, I would ignore my previous two posts. Once again, I reinstalled 7.04, and this time I accepted only the non-security-oriented updates that the Update Manager offered me. And once again, this disabled my sound. I've reinstalled and it's working again, but am afraid I'm leaving my system vulnerable to evil idiots by not installing the security updates. Advice is appreciated.
