I can confirm that the IDE-SCSI emulation is also broken in 2.6.20-16 on my laptop.
My main (IDE) drive now mounts as /dev/hda instead of /dev/sda, and the CD mounts as /dev/hdc instead of /dev/scd0.
This is a pain, because it looks like cds aren't mounting until you change the fstab file to correct the link (and obviously you can't specify a generic UUID for the cdrom).
