description |
after upgrade to 7.04 wifi usb nic does not associate to AP
at76c50x does not associate WEP AP w/SSID broadcast disabled.
Wifi Usb nics: Linksys WUSB11 v2.6, and topcom xplorer 3500
Access Point: Linksys BEFW11S4 V2, Firmware Version 1.45.10, Apr 15 2004 WEP key 128 Bits.
The AP does not support WAP but Wifi usb nics works fine with ubuntu 6.06 and 6.10 instalations from downloaded iso live/install CDs (without making updates). |
after upgrade from ubuntu 6.10 to 7.10 or even after clean install from live CD ubuntu 7.04 my wifi usb nic does not associate anymore to the router AP. I think the driver is at76c50x, and nic does not associate using 128bit (40) WEP key to my AccessPoint which have an SSID broadcast disabled.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description doesn't yet have enough information.
Please include the following additional information, if you have not already done so (please pay attention to lspci's additional options), as required by the Ubuntu Kernel Team:
1. Please include the output of the command 'uname -a' in your next response. It should be one, long line of text which includes the exact kernel version you're running, as well as the CPU architecture.
2. Please run the command 'dmesg > dmesg.log' and attach the resulting file 'dmesg.log' to this bug report.
3. Please run the command 'sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log' and attach the resulting file 'lspci-vvnn.log' to this bug report.
For your reference, the full description of procedures for kernel-related bug reports is available at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies . Thanks in advance! |
