i was hoping with the latest Gutsy upgrade this may have been solved,
but it is still an issue I also have an L.G p1 express with realtek ALC883

all other issues with this laptop have been fixed with the latest gutsy release,
if only we can sort out this sound issue then it will be 100% gutsy compatible,
