This time I used GtkTerm to try out the serial port of my HP NC6000:
- booted from Dapper live CD: /dev/ttyS0 works ok
- booted Edgy installation: Error /dev/ttyS0: No such device
- booted from Feisty Herd 2 live CD: same error
