Also, just for completeness, can you please describe how you are attempting to suspend the machine (panel menu, hotkey, lid close, etc.) and what happens when you try this (nothing at all, links blink but then stop, machine crashes, TV turns on :->)? You get the idea: A little more information to help us figure out what might be happening.
