When booting system with new Edgy code 6.10 I get to the main menu that asks what I would like to do. I select Start or Install Ubuntu. It begins to load then I get the following errors and them system does noting else.

[ 56.825291] Kenel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(1,0)
[ 55.825371]

This system is a 600e IBM Thinkpad
